Instructions and signing on form for Pilkington SC Enterprise Open Meeting

INTERNATIONAL ENTERPRISE OPEN
SATURDAY 15th MAY 2010

AT ECCLESTON MERE NEAR ST. HELENS

CONDITIONS

1. Racing will take place under the current ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the RYA, the Sailing Instructions and the International Enterprise Class Rules

In the 2010 ISAF Racing Rules under rule 86.1(b) in the definition Zone the distance is changed to two hull lengths


2. All boats shall have a valid Measurement Certificate with current buoyancy endorsement. Helmsmen shall be members of the Enterprise Association. Documents shall be produced before competing in a race.

3. Personal Buoyancy shall be worn at all times when afloat. Wet suits alone are not considered adequate.

4. All boats shall have Third Party Insurance with Third Party indemnity
against claims up to £ 2,000,000.

5. Entry Limit 30 boats. Entry Fee £ 7.

Times of other races to be announced on the day.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS - These will be available on arrival.

LOCATION Eccleston Mere is situated on the B5201 Burrow’s Lane approx 1/2 mile on the East side of its junction with B 5203 which is reached from the A 580 East Lancs Road. Please also note the A5300 leading from A 562 which goes over Runcorn Bridge to the M57 is now open and makes the journey to Prescot much easier.

PARKING
In the Club car park . Please take your boat and trailer/launching trolley through to the hard standing.

FACILITIES
Lunch and Refreshments will be available at modest prices.


HOUSE RULES
The Club accepts no liability/responsibility for missing articles.
Dogs are not allowed in the Clubhouse.
SCORING
The Scoring system will be as follows:-
first place 3/4 point
second place 2 points
third place 3 points etc.
Results to count:- Best 2 races to count from 3 races. Two races or less all to count.

PRIZES
The Pilkington Sailing Club Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the overall winner of the meeting and may be held for one year.

In addition, prizes will be awarded to the helmsman and crew of boats to at least 10% of the entries.

The Eckersall Trophy will be presented to the leading Pilkington Helmsman
who has not otherwise won a prize in the event.

GENERAL INFORMATION.
Boats may be left in the compound at owners risk on Saturday night but advanced notice must be given.
