Start of the seasonAfter the long winter it is time to get ready for the 2010 season. Whether you have bought a new boat, new sails or just tidied up your boat. I’m sure you are raring to have a sail let alone racing. Like many I have been preparing myself for this season from repairing my mast, buying new sails and repainting and varnishing my boats. The weather hasn’t help and has delayed some of my ventures but now the spring seems to be mild its time to get a race on, to have you Enterprise in fully working order. It might be as simple as applying a new flyaway pole or just a few coats of varnish on the worn decks. Don’t forget to check you’ll trolley and trailer. Check everything from your wheel bearings, tyres and even your light board. I’m sure you already preparing your boat for the new season whether you cruise, race at club level or at open level. You may want to repair your boat later in the season, as the weather is kind. Hopefully you are ready to start the season. Our first Open Meeting on the North West circuit is at Toddbrook SC 11th April 2010. The next Open is a week later at Winsford Flash SC. Please check our events for Open Meetings near to you and directions. Its new season so lets hope we see you on the circuit. As I was once told if you want to improve your sailing, you have to sail at open meetings. The reason you will improve your sailing is, all the sailors are willing to give you advice and tips from sail set up or to tactics. The competition will be tougher than you’re used to and will soon sharpen up your boat speed. You will be sailing with some of the greatest Enterprise sailors. Best of all you will be fed and the hospitality will be superb. Look forward to seeing you on the circuit. Steve Blackburn |
