Ents return at Leigh
4 Enterprise turned up at Leigh & Lowton SC for their RNLI Pursuit race on 15/03/09. In attendance were Alan & Matt Johnson SCYC 19876, Steve Blackburn & Nick Hampson Pilks 21333, Mark Dingsdale & Claire Pilks 22885 and finally the Twins Karen Morris & Lisa Woods Etherow 23165, Tony & Sam Woods came sailing in their OK’s. The weather was sunny and pleasant. The wind was a good force 4 before the start, Ents Planing up and down the lake. The wind dropped to 2-3 throughout the race. We all started 17 minutes after the Topper; AJ produced the best start followed by the girls with Steve and Mark holding the rear. The girls held their own until Mark eventually over took. A couple of laps later mark made a few mistakes and let Steve through. AJ & MJ had pulled away and was a nearly a leg ahead. Thomas Gillard won the event in a Streaker. Alan finished 12th with Steve in 20th Mark 21st and Karen & Lisa in 21st. A great day was had with plenty of practice, not that AJ needs any on his performance. Steve Blackburn |
