 Preview of WLYC Enterprise Open MeetingHeld on the 8th June 2008, the venue is Ainsdale on sea, Near to Southport. Directions are on the event’s page. The start will be at 11:00 if there are no hitches. If you need to get changed you can stop off at the Yacht club first then drive to the beach. I will be getting changed in the van to save time. I good idea is too make a pack lunch as all three races will be back 2 back. Sailing is fantastic at Ainsdale. This is an Open Meet not to be missed. Food will be served at the Yacht club later so make sure you get changed at the club and enjoy a fantastic meal and prize giving. If the Sailing committee can launch the Rescue boats and Committee boat we will be sailing on the sea. If they can not launch we will be sailing on the Marine Lake. This means you will not have a wasted journey. Does the left or the right hand side of the beat pay off. Well last time I sailed it was the right that paid off, because there was more wind. I sailed there last month in a force 1- 2. If the tide is strong and good wind the right is always a safe bet. This is your call. I hope to see new comers to sea sailing, once sailed on the sea there is nothing more pure. You’ll have to try it to find out. Steve Blackburn |
